LIGO Document G1000145-v2
- Gravitational-wave detectors are continuing to get more sensitive, reaching and exceeding their design sensitivities. Their most promising source of signals is from compact binary coalescences. I present the physics behind these sources, the expected astrophysical coalescence rates, and techniques used in and results from searches for these signals. I also present current work to reduce the latency of these searches.
