Abstract:
Wind flow around End Station Y for a scenario with a curved 50% porous fence, a scenario straight 50% porous fence, and a scenario without a fence was simulated in Ansys Fluent Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The effect of changing wind direction was also explored. Both fences were found to reduce the load on End Y. The curved fence was slightly more effective in reducing the wind velocity at End Y. These simulations are preliminary, so the results should be explored further.
