Configuration Control & Drawing Requirements. The purpose of this document is to provide requirements on the format, distribution, control and archiving of LIGO drawings. The scope includes all drawings initiated by the LIGO Lab regardless of application (detector, civil construction, etc.) or discipline/type (mechanical, optical, vacuum and electronics).
In all cases an approved ECR ( ECR process M1200274 ) will result in changes in design/build documentation. The record of review and approval of these changes is handled by the DCN process which is defined in this document. All drawing changes including initial release require a DCN.
Examples of DCN's in use can be found all over the DCC. A grouping of some of these can be found here: https://dcc.ligo.org/wiki/index.php/Engineering_Workflow#Document_Change_Notification%2C_The_DCN
Please note if you are working on a draft DCN pull an E number on the DCC as you would normally do for a final DCN and include "[Draft DCN]" in the title, until you are ready to release revision to a final DCN. This will help us better identify duplicate and or work in progress documents that are appearing on the DCC. Drawings included in a procurement package without a DCN will be rejected.
