Abstract:
Contamination Control optics are placed near Test Masses upon closeout of LIGO chambers. These samples are meant to catalog the accumulated outgassed materials in the vacuum system that might affect the absorption of the test masses.

The samples must have a low absorption coating of less than 1ppm. Other characteristics are not very important for this purpose, thus the relaxed transmission, micro roughness and figure requirements.
