- Gravitational-wave observations will open up new
possibilities for testing General Relativity and probing black holes.
General Relativity has very specific predictions for the gravitational
waveforms from inspiralling compact binaries. In this talk I will
discuss the extent to which the measurement of the post-Newtonian
coefficients could be used to place bounds on a sub-class of
parametrized-post-Einstein theories which differ from General
Relativity in a parametrized sense. Additionally, I will also discuss
how quasi-normal modes could be used to test the black hole nature of
