Abstract:
Multiple detectors on the Earth to form a gravitational wave detector network is highly important for the new era of gravitational wave astronomy. After the successful conclusion of the first observing run of Advanced LIGO, the two LIGO detectors are currently in a commissioning mode where they aim to further improve the sensitivity by increasing the laser power from 20 to 50 Watts. At the same time, the other ground-based detectors, VIRGO and KAGRA, are being integrated and commissioned in order to become online as early as possible. In this talk, I will give an update on the current status of those ground-based detectors with a special focus on the commissioning status of the Advanced LIGO detectors.
