Visualizing BNS and BBH detections for 2G and 3G detectors

Abstract:

A diagram illustrating how BNS and 30–30M☉ BBH coalescences are distributed in redshift, along with horizon redshifts for aLIGO O2, LIGO A+, LIGO Voyager, and Cosmic Explorer 2.

The coalescences are generated starting with a Madau-Dickinson SFR, and then evolved forward with an exponential merger time distribution with a characteristic delay of 100 Myr.
