This document, which should be read in conjunction with reference [1], discusses the design of the BOSEM, to be installed in the Advanced LIGO Suspensions. The final section details the results of testing being conducted on Noise Prototype units.

Updated section 2.3 to capture change in production flag geometry from cylindrical to rectangular design.

Note that in section 5.2, it is suggested that the maximum magnet temperature may be only 80C. The max. operating temp for our type is 180C (see link below). This is much higher than the minimum for some NdFeB types (70C on this list):
