This was an idea to resurrect the frequency modulation methods described in P0900155 for to characterize aLIGO interferometers. It was never attempted -- instead we have used the ALS system, as described in the appendices of P1500248.
Also, we now have a much better understanding of the aLIGO interferometer and how to measure, model, and parameterize the detectors and their uncertainty. For details see P1600139.
