LIGO Document T1600387-v1
- Physical Environmental Monitoring at LHO and LLO is a study of how ambient environmental noise affects the interferometer. Conducting acoustic, magnetic and shaker injections at various locations along the instrument provides the LIGO collaboration with an idea of how various environmental signals show up in DARM. Two coupling function calculator programs have been written to analyze data from DARM and sensor channels, and generate functions that show the corresponding response in DARM to environmental signals. This data will be used in O2 for the vetting of gravitational waves, as well to study whether certain parts of the interferometer are susceptible to certain kinds of ambient noise.
