LIGO Document G1000673-v3
- There are no experimental results yet that allow us to envision a clear picture of how Newtonian-noise filtering will be realized in future GW detectors.
For this reason, Newtonian-noise filtering is currently more like an art, painting pictures of what could be or what scientists find plausible. In this presentation, I will try to put together all the colors and brushes to present my ideas what we need to know about seismic fields (and maybe the atmosphere), and what the methods could be that form the basis of Newtonian-noise filters. I will end my talk with a prediction what sensitivity goals we will not be able to achieve with Newtonian-noise filters over the next 77 years.
