Abstract:

This note describes the steps taken to add the violin modes of the fused silica fibers to the quad suspension model. This model is on the svn at
.../SusSVN/sus/trunk/QUAD/Common/
MatlabTools/QuadModel_Production/
makequad_with_modal_fibers.m

The fiber is modeled in a modal fashion so that each mode has an accurate frequency and shape, and only requires a single degree of freedom in the model.
